Method
 

Preparation
  1. Peel the taro with a vegetable peeler until all skin is removed.
  2. Slice the taro into thin, even pieces about 1/16-inch thick.
  3. Set the slices aside in a bowl.
Deep-Frying Method
  1. Pour enough oil into a deep fryer or heavy pot to submerge the slices.
  2. Heat the oil to 350°F (175°C). Use a small piece of taro to test the temperature.
  3. Carefully lower a few slices into the hot oil and fry for 4-6 minutes.
  4. Remove the chips with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
Air-Frying Method
  1. Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Lightly spray the taro slices with cooking oil spray.
  3. Arrange the slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
  4. Cook for 14-16 minutes, flipping halfway through.
Finishing Touches
  1. Sprinkle the chips with salt immediately after cooking.
  2. Add any additional spices or seasonings as desired.
  3. Serve the taro chips warm for the best flavor.
