Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. If your tilapia fillets are frozen, thaw them in the refrigerator overnight or in cold water for 30-60 minutes. Pat dry with paper towels.
  2. In a small saucepan, combine honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, and lemon juice over medium heat. Simmer for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened and fragrant.
  3. Decide whether to cook your tilapia on the stovetop or in the oven. For stovetop, heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. For the oven, preheat to 375°F (190°C).
  4. For skillet cooking, place the tilapia fillets in the hot skillet. Sear for 3-4 minutes each side until golden brown, brushing with glaze during cooking.
  5. For oven cooking, arrange fillets on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Brush with glaze and bake for 15-20 minutes until flaky.
  6. Serve warm, drizzled with remaining glaze, alongside rice, steamed vegetables, or salad.
