  • 2 cups Fresh Strawberries sliced and ripe
For the Topping (optional)

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x9-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the room-temperature butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the large eggs one at a time, blending well after each addition until smooth.
  4. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl. Gradually mix into the wet ingredients.
  5. Pour half of the batter into the prepared dish, smoothing it out evenly.
  6. Spread the sliced strawberries evenly over the batter layer, pressing them down slightly.
  7. Spoon the remaining batter over the strawberries, smoothing it out to cover completely.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden edges and a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Allow cooling in the pan for at least 15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. Slice into squares and optionally top with whipped cream before serving.
