  • 1 quart Water for boiling
For the Bacon
  • 8 slices Bacon can substitute with prosciutto
  • 1 tablespoon Neutral oil for frying
For the Garlic Sauce
  • 4 cloves Garlic, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons Soy Sauce low-sodium preferred
  • 1 tablespoon Oyster Sauce or additional soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch for thickening

  • 2 tablespoons Water to adjust sauce consistency

Equipment

  • Large pot
  • Skillet
  • Small Bowl
  • Colander
  • paper towels

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Bring a large pot of water to a rolling boil and add a pinch of salt. Add chopped broccoli and cook for 3-5 minutes until bright green and tender. Drain thoroughly.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, add a splash of oil. Sauté bacon until crispy and golden, about 5-7 minutes. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate, keeping rendered fat in the skillet.
  3. In the same skillet, add more oil if needed and sauté garlic until golden and fragrant, about 1-2 minutes. Do not burn.
  4. In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, and water. Pour into skillet with garlic and stir quickly for about 10 seconds until it thickens.
  5. Add boiled broccoli and bacon to the skillet. Toss until evenly coated and heat for 1-2 minutes, allowing flavors to meld. Serve immediately.
