Ingredients

For the Tea Base
  • 3-4 bags Green Tea Bags Can replace with herbal or decaffeinated teas
For the Sweet Puree
  • 1 medium Honeydew Melon Select ripe or substitute with cantaloupe or watermelon
  • 10 leaves Fresh Mint Leaves Muddle extra mint for more intensity
For Sweetening
  • 1/4 cup Sugar Adjust to taste; can substitute with honey (2-3 tablespoons)
For Serving
  • 2 cups Ice Cubes Use large cubes for slower dilution

Equipment

  • Pot
  • blender
  • Large Pitcher
  • measuring cup

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Start by boiling 4 cups of water in a pot over medium heat until bubbling. Once it reaches a rolling boil, remove it from heat and add green tea bags. Let them steep for 3-5 minutes until the tea becomes a rich amber color, then remove the bags. Allow the tea to cool to room temperature.
  2. While the tea cools, take a ripe honeydew melon, diced into chunks, and fresh mint leaves. Place them in a blender and blend until smooth. Pour the puree into a measuring cup or bowl, ready to blend with the steeped tea.
  3. Once the tea has cooled, return it to the pot and add sugar while it’s still warm. Stir gently until the sugar fully dissolves, ensuring a perfect flavor balance for your refreshing Iced Honeydew Mint Tea.
  4. In a large pitcher, combine the cooled sweetened tea and the honeydew-mint puree. Stir the mixture thoroughly for even distribution of flavors. Let it sit for a few minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  5. Fill tall glasses with ice cubes. Pour the vibrant mixture over the ice, watching it swirl and mingle. Garnish each glass with a sprig of fresh mint.
