Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Slice fresh strawberries into thin pieces and place them in a mixing bowl. Sprinkle sugar over the strawberries, gently tossing to coat. Let sit for 15-30 minutes.
  2. In a chilled mixing bowl, pour in the heavy cream and add a splash of vanilla extract. Whip the cream until soft peaks form, about 3-5 minutes.
  3. Layer macerated strawberries at the bottom of tall glasses, add ice cubes, and pour in club soda or sparkling water, filling glasses about three-quarters full.
