Preparation
- Melt 1/4 cup of unsalted butter, combine with 1 cup of warm milk, 1 packet of active dry yeast, and 1/4 cup of granulated sugar. Let sit for 10 minutes until frothy.
- Beat in 1 large egg, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Gradually add 3-4 cups of all-purpose flour until a soft, slightly sticky dough forms.
- Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm oven for 10 minutes.
Filling and Baking
- Prepare the filling by mixing together 1/2 cup of softened butter, 1/2 cup of light brown sugar, 1/4 cup of granulated sugar, and 2 tablespoons of ground cinnamon.
- After proofing, roll the dough into a rectangle about 1/4-inch thick. Spread the filling over the dough and roll tightly into a log. Slice into 12 pieces.
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Place rolls in a greased baking dish and bake for 20-25 minutes.
- Prepare the icing by beating 4 ounces of cream cheese, 1 cup of powdered sugar, and 2-3 tablespoons of milk until smooth. Drizzle over slightly cooled rolls.

Notes
Ensure yeast is fresh for the best rise. Allow rolls to cool slightly before icing.
