Method
 

Dough Preparation
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 10 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add eggs, melted butter, flour, and salt; mix into a sticky dough. Knead on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes.
Rising
  1. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour until doubled.
Garlic Herb Butter
  1. In a saucepan, melt butter and sauté minced garlic for 2 minutes, then mix in fresh herbs, allowing to cool.
Shaping
  1. Roll out the risen dough into a rectangle, brush with garlic herb butter, and sprinkle with mozzarella.
  2. Roll tightly into a log, slice lengthwise, and twist before placing in a greased loaf pan.
Final Rise
  1. Cover the loaf and let rise for 30-40 minutes. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) during this time.
Baking
  1. Brush the loaf with egg wash and bake for 35-40 minutes until golden brown and hollow sounding.
Cooling
  1. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack for another 5-10 minutes.
