Cooking Steps
- Heat the oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat until bubbly, about 1–2 minutes.
- Add onion, green bell pepper, and celery to the skillet. Sauté for 10–12 minutes until very soft.
- Stir in garlic, Cajun/Creole seasoning, thyme, cayenne pepper, and bay leaf. Sauté for an additional minute.
- Incorporate tomato sauce, water, and Worcestershire sauce. Bring to a rapid boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 8–10 minutes.
- Add shrimp to the sauce, cook for about 1–2 minutes until opaque and firm.
- Remove bay leaf, season with Tabasco, salt, and pepper to taste.
- Serve immediately over rice, garnish with parsley and lemon wedges.
