Method
 

Baking Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients: flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs and cherry extract to the creamed mixture and mix until smooth.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture into the wet ingredients and fold gently until just blended.
  6. Fold in the dark chocolate chips and dried cherries until evenly distributed.
  7. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and drop spoonfuls of dough onto the sheet, spaced 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are set and centers are slightly underbaked.
  9. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
