Preparation
- In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, instant yeast, sugar, and salt.
- Heat the milk and butter together until warm but not boiling, then pour this mixture into the dry ingredients.
- Mix until you form a sticky dough, then knead on a floured surface for 5–7 minutes, until the dough is smooth and elastic.
- Place the kneaded dough into a greased bowl, covering it with a clean kitchen towel. Allow it to rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour.
- While the dough rises, prepare the creamy filling by beating together the cream cheese and sugar until smooth and creamy.
- Gently fold in the chopped strawberries.
- After the dough has risen, punch it down gently to release air bubbles. Roll the dough out into a large rectangle, about 1/4-inch thick.
- Evenly spread the cream cheese and strawberry filling over the dough, leaving a small border.
- Beginning at one long side, carefully roll the dough tightly into a log shape.
- Slice the log into 12 equal pieces and place the sliced rolls cut-side up in a greased baking dish.
- Cover the rolled slices with a towel and let them rise again for about 30 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Once preheated, bake for 25–30 minutes until golden brown.
- After baking, let cool for about 10 minutes and dust with powdered sugar.
