Ingredients

For the Roll Ups
  • 4 slices Soft white sandwich bread or brioche works best
  • 2 Eggs large
  • 1/2 cup Nutella for filling
  • 1 pinch Cinnamon
For Optional Fillings
  • 1 medium Sliced Bananas
  • 1/2 cup Chopped Strawberries
  • 1/4 cup Crushed Hazelnuts
For Serving
  • 1/2 cup Whipped Cream for topping
  • 1/4 cup Caramel Sauce for drizzling

Equipment

  • Air fryer
  • Rolling Pin
  • shallow dish

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Begin by laying out your soft white sandwich or brioche bread slices on a clean surface. Using a rolling pin, gently flatten each slice to about half its thickness, which makes them more pliable and prevents tearing during rolling.
  2. Spread a generous layer of Nutella evenly across each flattened slice of bread, leaving a small border around the edges. If using any optional fillings, sprinkle them evenly over the Nutella. Carefully roll each slice tightly from one end to the other.
  3. In a shallow dish, whisk together the eggs and a pinch of cinnamon until well combined. This egg mixture will coat your Nutella French Toast Roll Ups.
  4. Take each roll-up and quickly dip it into the egg mixture, ensuring to coat all sides but not letting it soak.
  5. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Place the dipped roll-ups in the fryer basket, ensuring they are not overcrowded. Air fry for 8-10 minutes, turning them halfway through.
  6. After cooking, remove the roll-ups from the air fryer and let them cool slightly. Serve warm, drizzled with caramel sauce or dusted with powdered sugar.
