Cooking Steps
- Brown the Beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until it’s no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess grease and set aside.
- Add Onion and Garlic: Sauté chopped onion for 4-5 minutes until translucent, then add garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Transfer to Crockpot: Pour the beef and onion-garlic mixture into the crockpot, spreading it evenly.
- Add Tomatoes and Beans: Mix in crushed tomatoes, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, and tomato paste. Add the drained beans and stir well.
- Season Generously: Sprinkle in chili powder, cumin, paprika, oregano, optional cayenne, salt, black pepper, and pour in beef broth. Stir well.
- Slow Cook to Perfection: Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 4-5 hours.
- Taste and Adjust: About 30 minutes before serving, taste and adjust the seasoning as desired.
- Serve Warm: Ladle the chili into bowls and invite everyone to add their favorite toppings before serving.

Notes
Always brown the beef for added flavor and feel free to adjust spice levels to suit your preference. This chili gets better after a night in the fridge and is perfect for meal prep.
