- Brown the meat by heating olive oil in a skillet, adding ground beef, diced onions, and minced garlic, cooking until browned.
- Transfer the meat mixture to the slow cooker. Add beans, crushed and diced tomatoes, and tomato paste. Pour in beef broth and stir.
- Add chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, black pepper, salt, oregano, and optional brown sugar. Stir thoroughly.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 6-8 hours or HIGH for 3-4 hours until bubbling and ready.
- Stir, adjust consistency with more broth if needed, taste, and serve with garnishes.
