Preparation Steps
- In a small bowl, combine ground cinnamon, cloves, ginger, cardamom, nutmeg, and black pepper. Reserve 1/4 teaspoon for the whipped cream.
- In a saucepan, pour in the water and add the black tea leaves or tea bags along with brown sugar and the remaining spice mix. Heat over medium until simmering.
- Once simmering, reduce heat to low and stir in the milk. Allow the chai to steep for 5 minutes.
- Carefully strain the chai into mugs using a fine mesh strainer.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, honey, and reserved spice mix until soft peaks form.
- Top each mug of Christmas Chai Latte with the spiced whipped cream and sprinkle with additional cinnamon or nutmeg.
