Prep and Cook
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with olive oil.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook for 5-7 minutes until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing for 3-4 minutes until onion is translucent.
- Transfer the beef mixture to the greased baking dish, layer sliced potatoes on top, and season with salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and paprika.
- Sprinkle cheddar and Parmesan cheese over the potato layer, then pour beef broth around the edges. Drizzle with milk if desired.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until potatoes are tender and cheese is bubbling.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes
For best results, slice potatoes evenly and use fresh, high-quality ground beef. Adjust cooking times if using ground turkey or chicken.
