Method
 

Prep and Cook
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with olive oil.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook for 5-7 minutes until browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Stir in chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing for 3-4 minutes until onion is translucent.
  4. Transfer the beef mixture to the greased baking dish, layer sliced potatoes on top, and season with salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and paprika.
  5. Sprinkle cheddar and Parmesan cheese over the potato layer, then pour beef broth around the edges. Drizzle with milk if desired.
  6. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until potatoes are tender and cheese is bubbling.
  7. Let cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
