Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Boil a large pot of salted water. Add the lasagna noodles and cook until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain and lay flat to prevent sticking.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Stir in marinara sauce, diced tomatoes, and Italian seasoning; let simmer for 10 minutes.
  3. Mix ricotta cheese, egg, and half of the grated Parmesan in a bowl until smooth and creamy.
  4. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). In a baking dish, spread a thin layer of meat sauce, layer with lasagna noodles, ricotta mixture, and mozzarella. Repeat until all ingredients are used.
  5. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 20 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  6. Let the lasagna rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley before serving.
