Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large skillet, melt 3 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add 1 diced onion, 2 chopped celery stalks, and 1 chopped bell pepper. Sauté for about 5–7 minutes until soft and fragrant.
  2. Stir in your seafood mix along with 2 tablespoons of Cajun seasoning. Cook for an additional 3–4 minutes, or until seafood turns opaque and is cooked through.
  3. Sprinkle 3 tablespoons of flour over the mixture, stirring well to combine. Gradually whisk in 1 cup of heavy cream, ensuring no lumps. Simmer on low for about 5 minutes.
  4. Remove the skillet from heat and let the filling cool for about 10 minutes.
  5. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Pour cooled filling into a prepared pie crust. Optional: Place another crust over the filling and seal edges.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 25–30 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and filling is bubbling.
  7. Once baked, cool the pie for about 5–10 minutes before slicing.

Notes

Ensure seafood is fresh for the best flavor. Allowing the filling to cool prevents the crust from becoming soggy.
