For the Beef
  • 1 pound Ground Beef Can substitute with ground turkey or chicken.
For the Sauce

  • 3-4 cloves Garlic Fresh minced garlic is essential.
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream Substitute with half-and-half for lighter version.
  • ½ cup Grated Parmesan Cheese Pecorino Romano also works well.
  • 1 cup Beef Broth (Low Sodium) Substitute with vegetable broth for vegetarian option.
  • 1 tablespoon Flour Optional thickener; can use cornstarch for gluten-free.
  • to taste Salt Essential for seasoning.
  • to taste Freshly Ground Black Pepper Essential for seasoning.
  • 1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning Optional; can replace with other dried herbs.
For Garnish
  • ¼ cup Fresh Chopped Parsley Can substitute with fresh basil.

Method
 

Cooking Instructions
  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add rotini pasta and cook until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain and reserve ½ cup pasta water.
  2. In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook for 5-7 minutes until browned. Season with salt and black pepper.
  3. Add an additional tablespoon of olive oil if needed and sauté minced garlic for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Pour in the low-sodium beef broth and bring to a simmer. Stir in heavy cream and grated Parmesan cheese until smooth. Add flour if desired.
  5. Return browned beef to skillet, mix well, and fold in cooked rotini. If too thick, add reserved pasta water gradually.
  6. Add Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper to taste. Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley.
