Step-by-Step Instructions for Baked Eggs Napoleon
  1. Thaw puff pastry sheets on the countertop for about 30-40 minutes until pliable.
  2. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. Cut the thawed puff pastry into 8 equal squares and score a smaller square inside each.
  4. Brush the surface of the pastry squares with a beaten egg.
  5. Bake the pastry squares in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Press down the center of each square to create a well for the filling.
  7. Sauté diced shallot and minced garlic in olive oil until fragrant.
  8. Add fresh spinach and cook until wilted, then remove excess moisture.
  9. Combine spinach with cream cheese, heavy cream, Parmesan, nutmeg, salt, and pepper.
  10. Spoon the filling into the pastry wells, leaving space in the center.
